History Made – CUAC Celebrates 100th Anniversary!
The Canadian Ukrainian Athletic Club (CUAC) celebrated their 100th Anniversary Legacy at Sinclair Park Community Centre, Friday, September 19, 2025. The dual event featured an afternoon session with St. John’s High School performing a Pow Wow Dance and Sisler High School Choral Group singing. Ken Ingram provided a Power Point presentation for the attending students from Faraday, Ralph Brown, and Robertson Schools and the CUAC alumni.
City of Winnipeg, Mayor Scott Gillingham and Councillor Ross Eadie and Cindy Lamoureux for MP Kevin Lamoureux attended the evening session. The event featured a Power Point presentation by Don Kuryk and a performance unmatched by the Rusalka Dance Ensemble!
Congratulations to the legacy committee of chairs Kirk Kuppers, Don Kuryk and Bud Ulrich and members Bev Harbour (McMillan), Joan Atamanchuk (Solohub), Don Bryk and Bob Ashuk for their outstanding and tireless work on planning and organizing this once in a lifetime event.
Certificates or Recognition on their contribution to the Legacy Celebration were presented by Cindy Lamoureux on behalf of Kevin Lamoureux and the House of Commons – Canada to Rob Zanewich, Kent Cielen (CPAC), Kent Morgan, Kenneth Ingram, and Jim Jorgenson.
Thank you to all the attendees who came from all over Canada, and the contributors of pictures, trophies, and sporting memorabilia from CUAC, St. John’s Sportsmen Club, the Canadian Polish Athletic Club (CPAC) and Sinclair Park Community Centre.

Located on the beautiful north Shore of Gull Lake in Manitoba, Falcon Lodge Resort has been a favourite vacation placefor many since the early 60's. This family and couple-friendly large lakefront property has seven cabins available for rent during the summer months where you can build long lasting memories.

Our large lakefront grounds include:

Sand beach where sandcastles await our little renters.

Paddleboats, kayaks, canoe, an aluminum fishing oat, a dock and diving tower in the lake all available for renters to use.

A variety of sporting equipment is available for use including a basketball court, tennis court, soccer nets/balls, baseball equipment and footballs/basketballs.

There is a main lodge for renters use which has a TV and DVD player to watch movies, board games, a teen/adult games room with shuffleboard and darts along with a kitchen area with a stove/oven.

Bathrooms are located in a separate building only short walk from the cabins and include multiple showers.
Cabins
All of our cabins have a kitchen with a refrigerator, microwave, hot plate, dinnerware, cookware and coffee maker.

About CPAC
The Canadian Polish Athletic Club Inc. is an organization founded in 1954, to sponsor sports and recreation for youth in the North End of Winnipeg. It is a non-political and non-sectarian club, which bars no youth from participating in it's programs. The philosophy is expressed in our motto:
"Building Youth is Better Than Mending Adults"
The club has sponsored a variety of sports which include women's hockey and softball, men's fastball, curling, youth soccer out of Sinclair Park Community Centre, lawn bowling and junior hockey.
Over the past 60 years the teams have received numerous Civic, Provincial, Western Canada and Canada awards of acclaim on the athletic field.
The club has donated thousands of dollars to worthwhile charities and organizations. Trophies and bursaries have been awarded to students at Isaac Newton and Andrew Mynarski schools for their athletic and scholastic achievments as well as scholarships pressented to Sisler and St. John's High schools to further secondary education. We are proud thast over ten thousand young people, male and female, have benefited from our sponsorship.
Our club is run by a group of dedicated volunteers and in 2001 received the "City of Winnipeg Mayor's Volunteer Award."
